Change in the Board of Directors of Zugerbergbahn AG (ZBB)

16.06.2023 | Urs Raschle, Zug City Councillor, and Etienne Schumpf, Zug City Councillor, were newly elected to the Board of Directors at the 117th General Meeting of Shareholders of Zugerberg Railway.

This year saw the general election of the Board of Directors of Zugerbergbahn AG. Urs Raschle and Etienne Schumpf, Zug City Councillors, were unanimously elected as new representatives of the City of Zug. Urs Raschle takes over the chairmanship from Vroni Straub, who chaired the Zugerberg Railway for 12 years with great passion and personal commitment. Vroni Straub's many years of service and André Wicki's valuable contribution to the Board of Directors of the Zugerberg Railway were duly recognised at the Annual General Meeting. Urban Keiser (Vice-Chairman), Cornelia Stocker and Alexandra Arnold were re-elected for a further four-year term of office.

Extraordinary but successful operating year 2022

At the Annual General Meeting, Vroni Straub looked back on a special year, as the 100-year-old route of the Zugerberg Railway was renewed in 2022. The railway was at a standstill from 7 February to 10 December. Nevertheless, a total of 238,000 people were transported up the Zugerberg thanks to the railway replacement. In comparison: in a normal year, a good 300,000 people travel to Zug's local mountain. The new route was successfully put into operation with the timetable change in December 2022. Vroni Straub was also pleased with the development of the Zugerberg restaurant. In Cindy Uslu-Hodel, a new tenant has been found for the traditional panoramic restaurant. The experienced restaurateur will reopen the restaurant with its popular sun terrace high above Zug on 1 September 2023.
