New opening of Restaurant Zugerberg

As the new tenant of the Zugerberg restaurant, Cindy Uslu-Hodel from Allenwinden will be welcoming guests to the traditional restaurant at the Zugerberg cable car mountain station.

Cindy Uslu-Hodel is an experienced restaurateur with a cookery diploma and publican's licence. Now they are moving to Zug's local mountain. What prompted them to take this step? "Our guests at the Zugerberg restaurant come to us for refreshments after a hike, on a family outing, to celebrate birthdays or simply to relax. They are people who love good things and take the time to savour a wonderful moment. Being able to cater in such an environment - with a view of the Rigi and Pilatus to boot - is probably a dream come true for any restaurateur. We are really looking forward to the new task," emphasises the restaurateur, who lives in Allenwinden.

In 2022, the route of the Zugerberg railway, which is over a century old, was rebuilt. During the construction phase, the premises of the former Zugerberg restaurant were made available for other uses. Looking ahead to the upcoming reopening, Philipp Hofmann, Managing Director of the Zugerberg Railway, says: "I am personally very pleased that we will be able to offer a restaurant again. The Zugerberg restaurant is in a unique location. It can be reached quickly and directly from the city by train. Just hop on and you can enjoy dinner with friends or a company event high above Zug. Where else is that possible?"

The new old Restaurant Zugerberg will reopen its doors on 1 September 2023 and focus on good cuisine with regional ingredients.
