Popular Zugerberg attracts many visitors
Grey at the bottom, blue at the top - the sunny autumn days are bringing good visitor numbers to the Zugerberg. Visitor numbers are currently well above the average of previous years. If you plan cleverly, you can still travel up the Zugerberg and back again without queuing.
Fresh air, sunshine and far-reaching views seem to be particularly popular this autumn. The Zugerberg Railway is recording significantly higher visitor numbers than in previous years. The railway has already reacted and is now running every quarter of an hour at peak times.
The Zugerberg Railway serves as a means of public transport for local residents and students at the Montana Institute. Accordingly, the services from Monday to Friday are occasionally well attended. Hikers and families are therefore advised to plan their excursion in advance.
Specifically, experience has shown that the following hours are very busy and waiting times are to be expected: Monday - Friday 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm in the direction of Schönegg and Saturday - Sunday 10.00 am - 11.30 am in the direction of Zugerberg and 4.00 pm - 6.00 pm in the direction of Schönegg.
The public transport protection concept applies on the Zugerberg railway. Wearing a mask is therefore compulsory in the waiting room, at the station and on the railway. The Zugerberg Railway team regularly cleans and disinfects the railway carriages.
