Reduced timetable during spring overhaul of Zugerberg railway

The spring overhaul of the Zugerberg Railway will take place from Tuesday 6 April to Friday 16 April 2021. During this time, access to the Zugerberg will be ensured by buses.

Operation of the Zugerberg Railway will be suspended from 6 to 16 April for the annual maintenance work. During this time, ZVB buses will run from the Schönegg valley station to the mountain station and back. From Saturday, 17 April 2021, the Zugerberg Railway will run again according to schedule.

The timetable will be reduced during this time. Information on the timetable is available at www.zbb.ch, at the travel centre at Zug station and at the Zugerberg Railway mountain and valley stations.

Clever travelling on the Zugerberg

The Zugerberg Railway and the replacement buses provide accessibility for local residents and students of the Montana Institute. Accordingly, the services from Monday to Friday are occasionally very busy. Hikers and families are strongly advised to plan their excursion in advance(further information). The number of places available during the spring revision is limited and there may be waiting times.

Experience has shown that the following times are very busy: Monday to Friday 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm downhill, in good weather at the weekend 10.00 am to 11.30 am uphill and 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm downhill. The public transport protection concept applies to both the Zugerberg railway and the replacement buses.

Courses only run Monday to Friday.
Evening courses are only organised for groups of 10 people or more. Registration required by 5.00 pm the day before on 041 728 58 60.
